Is there a cost for canceling a pay run?

There is no charge for canceling a pay run. A processed pay run can be canceled up until 11:30 PM on the business day before the funds are scheduled to be drafted. After 11:30 PM, it may not be possible to cancel a processed pay run.

Can I run payroll as many times as I want without extra fees?

Yes, absolutely! Your fixed monthly base fee remains the same, and the per-employee fee is only applied once per month. For example, if you have a single employee, you could pay them monthly, bi-weekly, or even daily, but your bill would still only be the base fee plus one employee’s fee for that month.

Will I be charged for employees on my payroll who are paid $0?

Yes. Your monthly bill is determined by the flat rate and the per-employee fee for every employee or contractor included in at least one pay run during the billing period. Even if a worker has no hours or earnings entered, including them in a pay run will still incur the per-employee fee. It is best practice to review the employees in your pay run and ensure that only those who should be paid are selected. This will improve the accuracy of payroll reports and help you avoid unnecessary costs.

Is sales tax applied to my subscription?

In many states, sales tax is applied to software-as-a-service (SaaS) subscriptions, which includes online payroll services like Beyond. If your company has tax-exempt status, you must provide a valid exemption certificate to Beyond to have the sales tax removed from your subscription payments.

Are there any special discounts or pricing?

While we do not offer student or other special discounts, we never charge for additional services such as tax filings and payments in multiple states, off-cycle pay runs, or payroll cancellations.

What are the payment methods for employees and contractors?

You can pay workers using any method you prefer, including direct deposit, debit cards, or printing your own checks. You have the flexibility to pay different people in different ways within a single pay run at no additional cost.

Can employees access their pay information online?

Employees and contractors have indefinite access to their pay stubs and year-end forms through a self-service online portal.
