Protect Your Account with Multi-Factor Authentication

Using an authenticator app to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your sensitive company data, tax information, and employee records. Similar to providing a second form of ID for verification, MFA ensures that anyone logging in with your Beyond password must also enter a unique 6-digit code that only you can access.
Trouble Logging In?
If MFA is enabled on your account but you can’t access your authenticator—or are otherwise unable to log in -call us at (705) 302-1442, Monday through Friday, 9 AM-6 PM EST, for assistance.
Reminder: Never share your login credentials or MFA codes. Beyond will never ask for this information.
What is Multi-Factor Authentication?
Also known as Two-Factor Authentication (2FA), MFA helps Beyond confirm that you are the authorized user, not someone who has obtained your password. It works by requiring a second verification step: a secret, one-time 6-digit code generated by an authenticator app.
After downloading and setting up an authenticator app, it will manage accounts that require MFA at login. You can also use the same app to protect other online accounts that support MFA.
What if My Authenticator is Compromised?
Authenticator apps generate short-lived, one-time codes that expire in about a minute. This means that even if someone obtains your Beyond password, the 6-digit code alone cannot grant them access.
Without MFA set up, a hacker could access your company and employee data, and even configure MFA using their own app, potentially locking you out. Enabling MFA promptly ensures that your account requires more than just a password for access.
Setting Up MFA During Login
If you haven’t set up MFA for your account, you’ll be prompted to choose how you want to receive your authentication code:
- Authenticator App – Download an app (like Google Authenticator) to generate a unique 6-digit code whenever you log in.
- Text Message (SMS) – Provide a mobile number to receive a 6-digit code via text each time you log in.
- Skip for Now – You can postpone setup and enable MFA the next time you log in.
- Use Different Credentials – Enter alternative Beyond login credentials if needed.
