Plan Payroll Early for Juneteenth: Avoid Payment Delays

Friday, June 19, 2026, is Juneteenth, a federal banking holiday. Since the Federal Reserve doesn’t process ACH transfers on holidays, direct deposit payments can be delayed if payroll isn’t submitted on time. If your payday falls on or shortly after the holiday, you may need to run payroll a day earlier to ensure timely payments. And if your payday is scheduled for the holiday itself, the check date must be moved up.

For paydays set for Friday, June 19, we recommend moving the check date to Thursday, June 18, and submitting payroll no later than Tuesday, June 16.

If your payday is Monday, June 22, the check date doesn’t need to change – but you will still need to submit payroll one business day earlier.

Note: These recommendations assume a 2-day payroll processing time. If you’re on a 4-day turnaround schedule, your deadline is Friday, June 12. See detailed submission timelines below.

* Beyond’s banking cut-off is 11:30 PM ET. Submissions after this time will be processed the next business day. You may still submit on a holiday as long as it’s before 11:30 PM ET, and your turnaround time will not be affected.

** While June 19 is a banking holiday, submissions made before 11:30 PM ET will still meet the deadline.
