Why is this important?
Beyond collaborates with government agencies on your behalf by reporting new hires to state labor departments, calculating tax rates, submitting tax payments and insurance contributions, and filing financial reports. To carry out these tasks efficiently, you must authorize us to act as your representative with the tax authorities in every state where your business has tax obligations. For instance, if your company operates in both Virginia and West Virginia, you’ll need to complete and submit a power of attorney form for each state.

Third-Party Access (TPA) for the Virginia Department of Taxation
To grant Beyond access to your Virginia tax accounts, please follow these steps:
- Log into your existing Virginia Tax account.
- Navigate to the “Account” section.
- Select “Manage My Account.”
- Add Beyond as your Tax Preparer for TAX (withholding). Our unique identifier is “beyond”, and we require Master permission level for this.
- Add Beyond as your Tax Preparer for VEC (unemployment). Our unique ID is “beyond”, and we need authorization for Account Summary and Quarterly Report & Payment access.
Note: If your business is not subject to unemployment tax, you might not have a VEC account.
Power of Attorney (POA) for the Virginia Department of Taxation
- Download the Virginia Tax POA form (available at the bottom of the referenced page).
- Fill out the following sections:
- Part 1: Taxpayer Information
- Part 2 (optional): To retain or revoke authorization for another agent
- Part 3: Tax Account Numbers and Starting Periods (enter the month and year you want Beyond to begin filing your taxes, formatted MM/YYYY)
- Part 5: The taxpayer(s) must print and sign at the bottom of the form.
- Send Beyond a copy of the fully completed form.
