Where to Find Your Vermont Tax Info

If you’re already registered:

You should already have the necessary ID numbers and login credentials from your previous payroll setup. Here’s where to look:

  • Vermont Tax ID – Found on correspondence from the Vermont Department of Taxes
  • Unemployment Account Number & Rate – Found on your Contribution Rate Notice from the Department of Labor
  • DOL Account Password – Can be reset via the employer portal if lost

If you’re new to Vermont payroll:

You’ll need to register your business with both agencies below before Beyond can begin processing your payroll.

Vermont Department of Taxes

  • Register online: myVTax Portal
  • Your tax ID should arrive within 5–7 business days after registration

 

Vermont Department of Labor

  • Register online at the Employer Registration Application
  • You’ll receive your unemployment account number and SUI rate immediately upon registration
  • Most new employers are assigned a 1% rate with a $14,800 taxable wage base
  • SUI rates range from 0.4% to 5.4%

 

Out-of-state employers with Vermont-based employees must register as well.
