Using the Org Chart

Beyond’s automated Org Chart gives you a clear view of your company’s structure and lets you make quick adjustments when needed.
What is an Org Chart?
An Organization Chart shows how your company is arranged. It’s especially useful for new hires who are still getting to know team members, their roles, and reporting relationships. The chart is built around supervisors, making it easy to see how everything connects.
You can zoom in or out, drag to navigate, re-center, and even switch up the chart layout.
How it’s built
The Org Chart is generated automatically based on the “Supervisor” field in each employee’s Job profile. For example, if Anthony is assigned a supervisor, he will display directly under that person on the chart.
Let’s say Amy Weathers is listed as the supervisor for both Michael Forsyth and Melissa Webber. In the chart, Michael and Melissa will appear connected to Amy.
If no supervisors are assigned, the chart may look fairly flat.
You can add supervisors directly within employee profiles—or do it right from the Org Chart itself.
Assigning a Supervisor
In the Org Chart view, you can assign supervisors in two ways:
- Drag an employee onto the person they report to, or
- Click on the employee and choose their supervisor from the menu.
After selecting, click Assign to confirm.
Any changes made here automatically update the employee’s profile as well.
