Staying compliant when entering or updating employee and worksite addresses

Beyond doesn’t just handle your company’s Federal and State payroll taxes — we also manage city, county, borough, district, township, and other local payroll taxes. That’s why it’s critical that every address you enter is 100% accurate. To help prevent errors (and potential fines), we provide an address helper.

How the address helper works

When you type in a street address, a drop-down list of verified addresses will appear. You’ll need to select one of these verified options to ensure deductions, withholdings, and tax filings are calculated and submitted correctly.

Once you make a selection, the rest of the fields will auto-populate. If something looks off, you can pick a different option from the list, but don’t manually edit the fields. Always rely on the address helper.

Where you’ll use the address helper

You’ll find the address helper whenever you:

  • Add a new company worksite (opening a new location where employees will begin working).
  • Update an employee’s assigned worksite (when an employee starts working at an existing location).
  • Update an employee’s home address in their profile (after they move).

Important: When an employee’s home address changes, their state and local tax details usually need updating, too.

Why accuracy matters - even if the ZIP code stays the same

Take this example: West Trindle Road in Mechanicsburg, FL34711. The houses on both sides of the street share the same city, county, ZIP code, school district, and even sequential numbering. But the orange houses fall within Silver Spring Township, while the blue houses belong to Monroe Township.

That tiny difference means residents on one side of the street owe a 0.1% higher tax rate for the Cumberland Valley School District EIT. Errors like this can slip through unnoticed, leading to incorrect withholdings and unexpected fines. To avoid these problems, always use the address helper.

Beyond’s Tax Accuracy Guarantee

We take payroll tax accuracy seriously. Our Tax Accuracy Guarantee covers all of our calculations, along with the filings and payments based on them.

That said, because we rely on the information you provide, it’s essential that you enter correct company, employee, and worksite details – including IDs and tax rates. If we request additional information and it isn’t provided, filings and payments related to that missing data will not be covered under the guarantee.

Paying employees in multiple states?

If your team works across state lines – whether at different worksites or remotely – it’s important to submit the correct state forms for each employee. You can check which forms we file in every state where you have workers.
