South Dakota Power of Attorney (POA) Requirement

Why is this necessary?
Beyond collaborates with government agencies on your behalf to report new hires, calculate tax rates, remit taxes and insurance contributions, and submit financial reports. To carry out these tasks efficiently, you must grant us authorization to act with the tax authorities in any state where your business holds tax responsibilities.
For example, if your company operates in both North Dakota and South Dakota, you’ll need to complete and submit a Power of Attorney form for each state.
South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation
The South Dakota Department of Labor and Regulation provides two methods for granting Power of Attorney. You can either submit the online Department of Labor and Regulation EForm or use the pre-filled PDF version provided below, but only one is required for the DLR.
Option 1: Online EForm POA
- Access the EForm here →
- Fill out all required fields with your business information.
- Specify the individual or entity being appointed as POA.
- Choose “Tax Power of Attorney” and enter the specified mailing address.
- The employer must sign at the bottom of the form.
- Save the form as a PDF by selecting “Print Form” or using your browser’s print-to-PDF feature.
- Submit a copy of the completed form to Beyond.
Option 2: Downloadable PDF POA
- Download the South Dakota DOL Power of Attorney form.
- Enter the Effective Date and complete all business-related information.
- The employer’s signature is required at the bottom of the form.
- Provide Beyond with a copy of the signed document.
