Pricing FAQs

Does cancelling a payroll run cost extra?

No. Cancelling a payroll run is free. You can cancel any processed payroll until 11:30 PM on the business day before funds are drafted. After that time, cancellation may no longer be possible.

Can I process payroll as often as I want without extra charges?

Absolutely! Your base monthly fee stays the same, and the per-employee charge applies just once per month. For example, if you have one employee, you could pay them on any schedule — monthly, semi-monthly, biweekly, weekly, or even daily — and you’d still only pay for one employee that month, plus your base fee.

Am I billed for employees who receive $0 in pay?

Yes. Billing is based on your flat monthly rate plus the per-employee charge for anyone included in at least one payroll run during that billing cycle. Even if no hours or earnings are entered, adding a worker to a run counts toward the per-employee fee. For accuracy and to avoid unnecessary costs, review your payroll list before processing and uncheck anyone who shouldn’t be paid that cycle.

Is sales tax applied to my subscription?

In many states, SaaS (software-as-a-service) subscriptions — including payroll services like Beyond — are subject to sales tax. If your company is exempt, you must provide a valid exemption certificate so Beyond can remove sales tax from your invoice.

Do you offer special discounts or promotions?

While Beyond doesn’t offer student or other discounts, we also never charge extra for things like multi-state tax filings, off-cycle payroll runs, or payroll cancellations.

What payment methods can I use for employees and contractors?

Pay workers via direct deposit, debit card, or by printing your own checks. You can even mix payment methods within a single payroll run at no extra cost.

Can employees view their pay online?

Yes. Employees and contractors have lifetime access to their pay stubs and year-end forms through Beyond’s secure self-service portal.
