Ohio Payroll Tax and Registration Guide

Keep Your Business Compliant with Ohio State Payroll Tax Requirements

Before you can process payroll while remaining compliant with Ohio’s state tax regulations, certain key details must be provided:

  • State Employer Identification Numbers along with any applicable local tax IDs
  • Tax rates, which vary depending on the nature, age, and size of your business
  • Third-party authorization and Power of Attorney (TPA/POA) – typically required by state agencies to allow payroll providers to handle filings and payments

Ensuring the accuracy of this information is your responsibility. Inaccurate or missing data may result in penalties or interest charges that your payroll provider cannot assume.
