Obtaining Check Stock

Although direct deposit is usually the preferred method for issuing paychecks, if an employee’s profile does not include banking information, their name will show “Paper check” during payroll processing. In this case, you’ll need to acquire check stock to print their paychecks.
Checks can be printed on standard check stock. While you can order preprinted stock with your company details from most office supply stores, we recommend using blank stock for security purposes. There are two common formats for printing paychecks:
- Voucher-style with two pay stubs
- Single-stub format for more detailed deductions
If you plan to print checks using blank stock, you must provide a photo or photocopy of a voided check to set up the printing correctly.
