New Jersey Payroll Tax and Registration Guide
To stay compliant with state payroll tax laws, you’ll need to provide the following details before you can begin processing payroll with Beyond:

All New Jersey Employers
Monthly or Quarterly Withholding Tax Remittance
• Filed monthly or quarterly
Employer’s Quarterly Withholding Report
• Submitted every quarter
Annual Reconciliation of Taxes Withheld
• Filed annually
Wage and Tax Statement
• Annual filing requirement
Employer’s Quarterly Report of Wages Paid
• Due every quarter
New Jersey New Hire Reporting
• Submitted as required
If you’re an existing employer in New Jersey:
You should already have the tax IDs and access to online systems required for Beyond to manage your filings.
If you’re a new employer in the state:
You must register your business with both the New Jersey Division of Revenue and the Department of Labor before Beyond can process any tax payments.
Existing Employers:
Find this ID on any correspondence from the NJ Division of Revenue. It’s your federal EIN followed by three digits (usually “000”).
If you can’t locate it, call (609) 633-6400 for assistance.
New Employers:
Register your business online with the Division of Revenue for income withholding. Your Tax ID will be generated instantly after successful registration.
Existing Employers:
Your PIN was issued at the time of registration with the NJ Division of Revenue. If you’ve misplaced it, you can request help (you’ll need your Beyond login) and provide:
New Employers:
You’ll receive your State PIN as part of your registration process with the NJ Division of Revenue.

Existing Employers:
Your SUTA rate is shown on your annual Notice of Employer Contribution Rate (Form AC-174.1) or available via your myNewJersey account.
Call the NJ Department of Labor at (609) 633-6400 if you cannot locate it.
New Employers:
When you register with the NJ Division of Revenue, your details are sent to the Department of Labor.
New businesses start with a 3.1% SUTA rate, which includes a 0.0425% Work Force Development Fund contribution.
Existing Employers:
This rate is also listed on Form AC-174.1 or accessible in your myNewJersey portal. Call the Department of Labor if needed.
New Employers:
The initial employer contribution rate for disability insurance in NJ ranges from 0.10% to 0.75%.
