Louisiana TPA + POA Requirements

Why this matters
Beyond works directly with state agencies on your behalf – managing new hire reporting to labor departments, calculating tax rates, paying taxes and insurance contributions, and filing the necessary reports. To perform these tasks, we must be authorized to represent your business with the tax authorities in every state where you have obligations.

For example, if your business operates in both Louisiana and Texas, you’ll need to complete and submit a separate Power of Attorney (POA) for each state.
Because each agency has its own procedures, the requirements and steps may differ. Below are the instructions for Louisiana.

Louisiana Workforce Commission

Third-Party Access (TPA)

  1. Log in to your LAWATS account.
  2. Once inside, go to Employer Services and select Manage Power of Attorney.
  3. Click Add POA and complete the following:
    • Agency (TPA) Federal ID
    • Authorization Type: Tax
    • Preferred Mailing Address: Select your company’s address
    • Click Submit
  4. Then, select Link Agent Account and enter:
    • Agent Access Code
    • Agency (TPA) Federal ID
    • Click Submit

Louisiana Department of Revenue

Third-Party Access (TPA)
Provide Beyond with the following so we can submit the TPA request:

  • Louisiana Withholding Tax ID (e.g., 1234567890)
  • Deposit frequency
  • ZIP code as registered with LA TAP
  • Amount of your last withholding tax payment

Power of Attorney (POA)

  1. Download the Louisiana DOR POA form.
  2. Enter your business information in the following order:
    • Company Name
    • Company Address
    • Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) – not a Social Security Number
  3. The owner or operator must sign on page 2.
  4. Send a copy of the completed POA to Beyond.
