Reminder: Plan for Payroll Around Federal Holidays
Monday, October 13 is a Federal Banking Holiday
The Federal Reserve will be closed on Monday, October 13, pausing all ACH transfers for the day. This pause may cause delays in direct deposit processing. If your payday is scheduled on or just after this date, it’s important to submit payroll early to avoid any interruptions. For paydays that fall directly on the holiday, the check date must be moved.
Recommended Adjustments:
- If employees are set to be paid on Monday, October 13, change the Check Date to Friday, October 10 and submit payroll by Wednesday, October 8 to avoid late payments*.
- If payday is on Tuesday, October 14, no change to the check date is necessary, but payroll should be submitted one business day earlier*.
